NO QUOTES – NO CONTRACTS
We do not give quotes or enter into contracts other than daily payment for time worked and materials! We are simply a time and materials service. You will be able to discontinue service if you are unhappy with the progress, with payment due at the time of cancellation. Full payment is due daily for each hour and the day’s materials. Each hour is billed in whole increments @ $50/hr – most jobs require more than $100 of materials daily. You are entering into an agreement to pay daily wages of $50/hour to the handyman who shows up to work for you within 24hours of each day’s work orders.
We are your employee, operating at your liability
We are operating at your liability for insurance and job space safety is also your liability. At no time is liability assumed or transferred to Wood Made Illinois for site fixtures, fittings, parts or damages. If you require liability insurance for your job, it will be quoted per job and a line item on your pre-work invoice. No implied insurances, guarantees or other extensions of responsibility are implied, entered into or applicable by assumption beginning a work order with us.
Material costs
A handyman like us will have universal supplies on hand. These can include nails, screws, nuts and bolts, and other basic building supplies. If your project requires special supplies, we bill per hour for shopping time and delivery, from a nearby hardware store or other usual sources. Describe your job and the materials needed clearly so the handyman understands the details of the job before arriving at your house and nearly everything will be at hand. If you wish to save money, you’ll need to send pictures and measurements to speed completion of the job. When your project requires supplies, the purchase of job materials can be handled in several ways:
- Wood Made Illinois purchases and incorporates cost of goods into your bill
- Handyman purchases, incorporates cost of goods into bill and charges an hourly rate for procurement and delivery
- Customer purchases materials before the worker arrives for the job. If you select this option, be sure to have the pro confirm that you have purchased the appropriate parts for the job.
What is the difference between a quote, and estimate and a contract?
The main difference between a quotation and an estimate is that: a quotation is an agreed fixed price. an estimate is the approximate price that may change. An estimate is a rough calculation of the cost of a project. Estimates are made when potential customers want to know more about your services. Estimates help clients assess their budget and understand their financial commitment. Estimates aren’t binding to the service provider or the client, meaning the project’s final cost could be higher or lower than the initial estimate. Estimates priced with time and materials are subject to change with the final job invoice.
